Whose pants are these anyway?

To gear us up for the forthcoming bank holiday wet weekend here is a little game for everyone to play.

The clue is in the title. Each one of these pants relates to a "celebrity" gardener. Please put a name to the pants and give your reasons for your answer. You are also welcome to post links to your own pants question.

Pants 1.
Pants 2.
Pants 3

I would guess the first ones are Tiger Buckland's, because he hates social injustice. Or maybe because he's gonna be minting it now he's GW's Next Top Model?

I am glad you've provided this entertainment for us, I was a bit worried I would have to do like the rest of the population...

Emmat you are quick!!!! If you google for ethical pants these are what you get complete with natty condom pocket!!!

emmat said...

I feel they are also accessible. And practical?

emmat said...

did you really google ethical pants?

Arabella Sock said...

I did google ethical pants and then I told some email friends and they googled all sorts of pants - quite an education really.

The Bedsock just emailed me and asked why I had posted a picture of my blue pants on the blog! Some people have no sense of self-preservation!

Change the locks, Madame Sock
That'll teach him!
Better still, can we have a picture of the Bedsock's pants, maybe???
Pretty please?

HappyMouffetard said...

Not sure about yours, but guess who these belong to?

They also have a ladies thong, but I wouldn't want to suggest the gardener in question was into cross-dressing...

Emmat - of course the nation watches TV over the Bank Holiday because the weather's always cr*p. However, gasp! We may have a sunny day this weekend :)

HM - I'm amazed at what you can find over the internet and they've completely made me forget Arabella's original question...

HM - I have had to go and change my pants after that!!!!! Fantastic.

I'm guessing pants three are Alys because of her Victorian style? no that can't be right, she denied that earlier and obviously prefers to think of herself as one of popular French beat combo "Air".

Are they CB's pants, and you've stretched them in photoshop, explaining the llooooooooonnnnngggg photo?

I'd wager that No. 3 is a photo of Monty's undertrews - there's plenty of room under his baggy cords for those. Anyway, I've just spent 15 mins googling for corduroy underpants and failed to find a picture. How sad is my life?

Arabella Sock said...

No no no! Pants 3 have been put forward as much more organic pants!
Think leather jerkins!

CBs fire pants have already been displayed.

BTW - I have been sent some great
J A-S pants but I'm not sure they are bloggable!

Ha ha! Happymouffetard got it! We crossed posts. Obviously HM is a pants connoisseur. They are soooo.. Monty Don.

Grump

HappyMouffetard said...

Of course, these underpants might be of use for any teeny-tiny TV gardeners out there...

Arabella Sock said...

Oh God! How bad are they HM???

Anonymous... I really do hesitate to ask what are you grumping about? Bear in mind I am going to bed early tonight and I am trying to envisage nice happy images before I go to sleep.

Madame Sock, Your Graciousness
I merely grumped because I had been anticiapting a picture of Saint Monty in his real underwear.
I didn't expexct a blog of this calibre to forget that some of us are real women with real needs
Sweet dreams

Monty wear mole skin underpants. It's a fact.

Anonymous said...

sorry supposed to be wears. got too excited letting that fact out

Yolanda Elizabet said...

The first one is Saint Toby's and he will wear it on his first day as GW head presentor as he's so desperate to make a good impression, the second one is from Alan Titchmarsh and he wears it on his head to keep his fetching hairdo in place when he's off camera and the last one is Monty's. He knitted it himself from used teabags and stuff.

Arabella Sock said...

My goodness Y-E, I think you might be right about the Alan Titchmarsh headpants. I had thought they might be Christine Walkden's but on consideration these are probably more her style!

LOL I think she is just about able to squeeze into those. With the aid of a bucket of vaseline and a shoehorn or two. ;-)

Honestly. None of you really understand anything do you? If you are going to venture into the Pant World then you should at least get your facts right.
Pant One belongs to Matthew Wilson who wears them while pruning Berberis. The small pocket is not for a condom but a supply of elastoplast.
Pant Two is a tent used by a young Joe Swift when he was a boy scout.
Pant Three is mislabelled has nothing whatsoever to do with gardening. They belong to the Archbishop of York.

Arabella Sock said...

Er... should we be told how you know so much about the Archbishop of York's pants, James?

I just heard the Bedsock laughing over the computer and I was pleased because I knew he had been reading the bloggywog. But it wasn't the blog he was laughing at it was Happy Mouffetard's link! After some happy minutes browsing that site he finally settled on some pants for me...

Ps. Happy Mouffetard is there an easy way to make links work when you are commenting?

VP said...

Arabella - you can do this if you want. Type:

Y

Where X = the URL
And Y is the text you want to use

Like this:

Veg Plotting

Lucy showed me how to do it

VP said...

Oops, that didn't quite work out in terms of giving you the formula for how to do it - I'll email you

Oh, Madame Sock!
I'm so pleased you asked JAS the question!
I've been itching to, but I thought it might be a bit too forward.
Does it perhaps say something about today's society that this paricular subject...
celebrity pants.. is so popular?
