Postcard from Oz

Greetings Chaps and Chappesses!

The Socks are now staying at the charming little seaside town of Apollo Bay! Unfortunately the weather is somewhat worse than a wet weekend in Clitheroe so we are having to lie in our enormous bed with panoramic views encompassing the whole bay and hills and watch daytime TV! Doesn't look like the Sock will be wearing her swimming cozzie too much this holiday!

We have seen more kangaroos, kookaburras, parrots, giant lizards, fairy penguins and a snake etc. than you could shake a didgeridoo at. Spent 3 days at a wilderness retreat 30 miles into the bush with our own mob of kangaroos for company. The Sock should say this was a luxury wilderness retreat - we don't do camping! Ha ha!

We noticed a garden centre yesterday which was called "The Quasimodo Garden Centre" complete with large and hideous plastic hunchback swinging from the sign. The Australians are so imaginative!

Lots of love to everyone

Arabella

PS. Have not been able to find ANYWHERE that sells TUC biscuits.

Forget the TUCs, stuff your face with Savoury Shapes instead.

Were the pohutukawa in flower?

We were at Apollo Bay for the Millenium New Years Eve! We had a fab time there - though the weather for us was far better. Have you done the rainforest aerial walkway yet?????

Listen Sheila - When the Oz Tourism website suggested you might indulge in some "Bush TUCker" - They weren't referring a sprig of Rosemary on "The Ultimate Cracker".

Strewth! What a Drongo!

Have you spotted the lesser spotted Harold Bishop on daytime TV yet?

G'day!

You'd be able to get TUC bikkies in Clitheroe!

Do fairy penguins mince about and flap their wings in a camp way?

Personal comment, nobody else is to read it:
Are you checking your e-mail? I've written you one which has turned into a short novel but haven't sent it yet!

Sounds like you're having a great time downunder. And you're a girl after me own heart as I don't do camping either. ;-)

Welcome back dear Sockins, we have missed you dreadfully. Re: your body clock, is that up that well known creek where everybody carelessly forgets to bring the necessary paddle?

That flight back was a bit much, even if you are 100 % cashmere.

I'm leaving this comment on a previous post as I can't access the comment section of your latest post as it is blocked by a vid of Chris B that has gone walkabout. How very Australian (and on topic) of him. ;-)

BTW the Brangelina/ Jenn triangle? Do tell. (Yes, I know, I lead a very sheltered life.)
