Hurrah! Another Oscar winning short film from Sock Enterprises.

We had to stop watching chez Mouffetard when La Raven started going on about knickers. We watched a nice programme about cassowaries instead. A choice between watching vicious old birds or Australian fauna? Hmmm....

I bow to your truly evil (but in a good way) brandnew series. It's only one ep so far but it's a hit!

BTW I know it's on BBC 4 on Sundays but at what time? I unfortunately missed the first 2 eps but your short film makes more than up for it. ;-)

BTW how's the maggot situation? Everything under control?

I had hoped the maggots in the bowl would die of exposure overnight but the ones who are still in there are still wriggling. I have sent the Bedsock a link to the Wiggly Worms site so he knows how to deal with the maggots when he gets home.

I do actually find the Sissinghurst series rather interesting. I think Sarah in particular comes over as a very unsympathetic character and I would imagine this is more to do with the editing/production than with real life. I would personally be right behind most of her and Adam Nicolson's ideas for change at Sissinghurst but the way these are put forward guarantee friction and upset and it is not clear to me that they understand the market. There is quite an interesting review of Nicolson's book here

which makes you feel more sympathetic as he was actually resident at Sissinghurst as a child before the National Trust took over.

Thanks for the link dear Sock, it was indeed a very interesting read. Still left with one burning question though: at what time is the serie broadcast? UK time is OK, I'll just add one hour. ;-)

It is at 8.00pm on Sundays on BBC 4.
You can also get it on-line on the BBC iplayer but I have the feeling that doesn't work outside Britain.

I enjoyed the first episode, but your soapette only adds to and enhances my enjoyment.

I thought Sarah dealt very well with the head gardener - I would have been livid to have had that magnolia removed, I remember it well and it was beautiful. The japanese would have killed for it.

Dear 100 % cashmere friend, your feeling is right. I cannot watch it on iPlayer (Grrrrrr) but fortunately I can receive BBC 1 to 6. Thanks for time of broadcast, my tv guide only gives the programmes of BBC 1 and 2.
I'm off to set recording device!
