Say what you see

The Sock is sharing with you a little brain teaser that the Bedsock tried out on her. It took the Sock a while to get it but that was entirely because the Bedsock had sketched it badly!!

The drawing above represent two phrases.. what are they?

If you have seen these before you are not allowed to tell the answer - people must get their own brains into action.

It's too early for my brain this morning. Is the last picture of a snowman?

WV says birizate which neatly sums up how I'm feeling at the moment!

Yes the last picture is a snowman so that is a big clue. The Bedsock said no one would recognise that as a snowman but he was clearly wrong - as usual.

Bomb the snowman's not your usual kind of phrase for these kinda things...

Four go First
Bomb snowman

nahh - I give up, far to early
(sigh) now I am going to be thinking about it all day.

K
PS It looks exactly like a snowman

So three hours later ... I stop cutting down things in the garden and come in, expecting to see all kinds of answers - and I am still thinking about it! Back down the garden then ..
:)

Karen you are so close.. think more about where the bomb is in the second phrase.

well I think I got it.

Karen won. Actually Karen was the only person playing.

The answers were

1. Go for gold

2. Abominable snowman (a bomb in a ball snowman, geddit?!!).

Karen actually thought it was "a bomb in a middle snowman" which I think is just as good.

Hang on you can't go giving out the answers so quickly.
I was thinking and would have got it if the rules had been even slightly fair.
I was hoping to win a nameless kitten.
Huh.

The Bedsock's snowman drawing skills are better than his balls - I thought the bomb was in a button!

Arabella Sock said...

There isn't a phrase bombinabutton snowman - although arguably there should be.

Had you got the correct answer on Sunday then you would have won a kitten with no name, James. However, the kitten has started to behave very sweetly the last two days so I might not have to send him away to the kitten orphanage after all.

As the kitten has no name maybe you should call him Clint

Rats! I was just about to try this, when I discovered you blew the answer. Snot fair!

I'd come up with a climate change motif - thinking the snowman was a badly drawn cooling tower.

Four go, ie forego gold.
Nuke powerstations.

Even the word verification, chblepoi, hints at this - it's got hints of Chernobyl in it.

I was feeling incredibly smug that I got the answers in less than a minute until I realised the second one wasn't in fact, nucelar winter (I obviously have a very bleak outlook on life)

LittleGreenFingers said...

Or even 'nucelar winter' - tsk, can't get the answer write, can't spell - I give up...

Arabella Sock said...

I really think nuclear winter is a much better answer than the abominable one. Less than a minute is very very quick! Too bad that Karen has already won.
