Old MontyDonald Had a Farm Ee Ay Ee Ay Oh!

Just a little reminder from the Sock that His Organic Jerkiness and Hobby Farmer MontyDonald is back on TV this week with his new series "My Dream Farm"!

Apparently the Lord of Cord has ducked all personal interviews regarding the series as he wanted to look forward, not backwards and didn't want this termed a  "TV comeback"!

With a quack quack here and a quack quack there!

(All other Old Macdonald jokes gratefully received)

Better a comeback than a throwback, don't you think?

The word verification is eateri - how appropriate! Eeeh aye - eeh aye eateri!

The Lord of Cord is the spitting image in every way of my ex husband, so I wont be watching him
But no doubt, in your own inimitable way, you will keep me up to date :)

(With the Lord of cord, not my ex)

That is interesting because His Montyness reminds me of my brother (and not in a good way!). We are a divided household on this because the Bedsock really likes Monty and thinks he is like a kindly uncle(?!!!).

Oh dear now I suppose this means I will have to watch at least the first episode. Never mind, perhaps it will turn out to be as good as Sissinghurst.

I'm sure your royal Sockness will be able to find some suitable material in it. When's it on, please? I'll be damned if I'm going to line the pockets of The Radio Times to find out...

Hmm. that is a good question Anon.
The RT says 'next week' on C4 which I took to be this coming week as I bought the RT last Tuesday, but of course the RT is actually dated 9-15th January so 'next week' would most likely be the week after.

I quite honestly couldn't give a shit about Monty's dream farm. I can't even think of anything funny to say about it. He is a really good writer but on tv he makes me want to scream because I think he gives off overpowering vibes of "i wouldn't be doing this if I could get paid as much money for doing something else". He is the most reluctant presenter, and I resent in the extreme how mercenary that must make him.

Hi Emma, do I take it you won't be buying the book and DVD Monty has made of the series and available to pre-order?

I was somewhat pissed off over the 80 Garden program where he did nothing but protest about how much he hated travelling. I'm sure there were other people would have jumped at the opportunity to do it who would have bought as much passion and interest to the screen.

It's a very delicate subject
as running a farm is far from a dream activity at the moment.

I agree with Emma about the reluctant jewelry maker/GW presenter/drug addict rehabilitator/planet saver and farmer/but I'm a writer really!

My Radio Times is stuck in a snowdrift/the Eurotunnel/a runway somewhere.

pfft again!

I'm astonished. We _love_ Monty Don. We think he was the best presenter of Gardeners' World bar none. The current prat (who's name we can't even remember) is a complete disaster. We will make sure to watch on Thursday and fully expect to... (oops! sorry! it's late!)

Hurrah! We have a Monty lover. Fight!

At least Monty is interesting enough to polarize people's opinions whereas 'the current prat'(Toby) would seem to be a view shared by almost everyone. (With the disclaimer that Toby is let down by the GW format and for all I know may be an excellent person in 'reality' whereas I am sure with Monty that what you see is what you get).

If you start typing "Monty Don" into Google(I was trying to find the TV prog); top of the list of things you should be looking for is "Monty Don died".

Rather harsh I think.

I won't fight, because I'm a wuss.
Can we have a pic of your brother Arabella?
PS The Bedsock is always right, and I am so surprised you haven't realised that by now
PPS Bedsock - when can I expect the money please?
