A Spider's touch...

The spider's touch, how exquisitely fine!
Feels at each thread, and lives along the line.

Someone is living in my nepenthes

I wonder who it can be?

I think that more correctly, someone is dying in your plant.

Hi Paddy

Ah... well whilst it is correct that in one sense everything is dying.. this particular spider isn't. At least not from anything to do with the insect eating plant. It has been in there a week now usually bobbing back into the pitcher when it senses me coming - but otherwise lurking just towards the top of it where it can see what is being caught in its web.

I don't mind as long as I know where it is.. when it disappears off I shall start to worry about it lurking..

This is obviously some sort of pirate spider, lurking in wait for prey which will be attracted to the plant. It is amazing how it can do so safely.
I saw an internet item the other day describing a blue tit caught in one of these eating plants. In the U.K.
